Mueller Would be 'Honored' to Attend U-M

2016 Mequon (Wisc.) Homestead defensive lineman Josh Mueller recaps Michigan visit, details what the coaching staff is telling him about an offer, and more.

A few days ago, the Wolverines were able to land their biggest commit to date in the state of Wisconsin’s prized recruit, Arrowhead 2016 four-star offensive lineman Ben Bredeson.

On Friday, the Maize and Blue had another prospect from the Cheese State on its mind in 2016 Mequon (Wisc.) Homestead defensive lineman Josh Mueller, who visited Ann Arbor for a full tour of campus and the football program.

“First, I worked out with Coach Drevno and then I had lunch,” Mueller told The Michigan Insider. “After lunch we went on a tour and saw the business school, dorm rooms and the stadium. I also had a meeting with a professor in the sports management school.

While an offer wasn’t extended to the rising 6-6, 260-pound defensive lineman, offensive coordinator Tim Drevno appears to be sold on his ability and made a big impression on Mueller.

“They didn’t offer, but they really liked me,” said Mueller. “They want me to call them on Monday. Coach Drevno said if he could, he would offer me now, but he has to talk to the other coaches and I also have to send in my transcript.

“I liked working with him a lot. I feel we bonded well for the first time meeting each other.”

Mueller has seen his recruitment begin to spike and his offer list as well, but after experiencing everything Michigan had to offer, he knows it would be a true honor if they were to pull the trigger and offer him.

“Considering I started talking to them about two weeks ago, I am pretty interested, but (Friday) was the only day I really took a look at what they had to offer,” said Mueller.

“I like how great of a school they are and how many connections I could make if I went to school there.”

“It would be a great honor to play for the University of Michigan,” added Mueller. “The coaching staff seems to be one of the best in the country. I learned a lot Friday working with Coach Drevno.”
