Michigan has had its sights on Upper Marlboro (Md.) Riverdale Baptist junior cornerback Sir Patrick Scott. The lockdown corner recently got in contact with Wolverine recruiting coordinator Chris Partridge and it didn’t long for U-M to offer.
“I was excited and just astonished,” he said of his offer. “Michigan is big time football. I’m pretty interested. I’m sure they are going to do some big things in Ann Arbor, so I’m very interested.”
With the unexpected news of an offer, the 6-foot-1, 190-pound corner hasn’t had much time to do his research on the Wolverines, but knows know enough about U-M’s history and coach Jim Harbaugh.
“I don’t know too much about the school, but I know a little bit about the football side,” said Scott. “I know they have a great history and are a winning team. I’m just really curious to see how the program is going to change now that Coach Harbaugh is the head coach.”
Ranked as the No. 50 CB and a three star prospect by Scout.com, Scott isays a visit to Michigan should happen sometime soon.
“I believe I’ll be taking an unofficial visit sometime in July,” said Scott. “It is not set yet. Me and my coach will work that out. I just can’t wait to get down there and see what they have in place down there. I also can’t wait to meet the coaches if possible a couple players. I’m very excited.”
While Scott has yet to dwindle down his list of offers, there will be a couple main factors he’ll be taking into consideration like getting a very good degree and succeeding off the field as well.
“I do not have a top list yet,” said Scott. “I won’t narrow my list quite yet since there are schools still recruiting me. I will be looking at how well the coaches interact with their players. A place where I can excel academically and they offer good support. Somewhere I can be successful on and off the field and just have a great time for the next couple of years that I’m there”
Scott plans to be at the Sound Mind Sound Body camp coming up in DC.
