In fact, they have told him how important he could be U-M’s revamped defense under coach Jim Harbaugh.
“I talk with coach (Greg) Mattison and coach (Jim) Harbaugh a lot,” McCulloch said. “They say they need me. They tell me they really need a buck linebacker, they haven’t seen one like me in a minute. So they would really enjoy having me on their team.”
That being said, McCulloch says his next plan is to take an official visit to U-M this fall.
“I just want to see how they would use me,” McCulloch said, when asked on what wants to experience during his official visit to Michigan. “I want to see what position they would have me at. I want to see it on film. I want to see what type of plan they have to set me up for the next level.”
Adding: “I will looking for a great academic program, and what type of degree I will be getting.”
McCulloch, who stars at Houston (Texas) Aldine Davis, says so , so good, when it comes to his relationship with Harbaugh.
“He’s just a cool guy,” McCulloch said of Harbaugh. “I love talking to him anytime I get a chance to.”
And when it comes to Michigan, McCulloch says Harbaugh and his staff have already filled him on what to expect if he were to choose Michigan.
“For the most part, anything I had a question about (Michigan) they have provided with that information,” he said. “They have been real good about that. Right now I don’t have any extra questions.” Upcoming, McCulloch says he plans on taking visits to LSU, Notre Dame and Texas this summer.
