Wilson Talking to Michigan, Hopes to Visit

Will Montgomery (Ala.) Carver High 2016 ILB Lyndell Wilson take an official to Michigan this fall? Find that out and more inside.

BEAVERTON, Ore. – Lyndell Wilson is one of the more sought after prospects from the south. He already holds notable offers from Alabama, Florida and LSU, with Michigan adding its name as one of the schools in hot pursuit of the Montgomery (Ala.) Carver High standout.

Rated a four-star ILB, Wilson has also been in touch with Michigan assistant coach Tyrone Wheatley, who has been trying to get Wilson to come up to U-M’s campus for a visit.

“He wants me to get up there any chance I get,” Wilson said Wheatley. “I told him it would probably be hard for me to come up and just visit like that. So I am probably going to just take an official visit.

“I just want to see the academic program,” he said. “How the players bond with the coaches. I want to see who I will have playing in front of me and what type of playing time If I go there.”

That being said, Wilson admits he’s not too familiar with Michigan’s program, but hopes to learn more on his visit.

“I really don’t know too much about (Michigan),” he said. “But I would like to get know about them. Because I’m open to all of my schools, I am interested in everyone.”

Wherever Wilson goes to school, he says there is a good chance his friend Marlon Davidson will come with him, when he was asked at The Opening last week.

“Of course, me and Marlin didn’t grow up together, but ever since we met each other it has been a close relationship,” he said of Davidson. “It’s probably going to me, him and Ben Davis also” as a package deal.

Wilson says he plans on taking his official visits to Oregon, USC, Ohio State and Michigan. He still hasn’t decided on the fifth school. He is planning on visiting Alabama on July 17.
