Top 2017 WR Hopes to Hear From Michigan

Columbia (Mo.) Battle High 2017 wide receiver Jaevon McQuitty talks about his Michigan interest and more.

Columbia (Mo.) Battle High 2017 wide receiver Jaevon McQuitty is a rising playmaker from the upper midlands region -- and his recruiting process has already started to take off.

Already with notable offers from Nebraska and Kansas, McQuitty says there still one school he hopes to hear from – and that’s Michigan.

“I have not yet heard from Michigan, but the recruiting guy followed me on Twitter, so that’s a start,” McQuitty told The Michigan Insider. “I am highly interested in Michigan. I like the tradition and Jim Harbaugh. I feel like he’s a coach that will get a player ready for the next level cause he used to be an NFL coach, so he knows what it takes.

“I don’t know a lot (about Michigan), but I know they have great fans and I’m down to learning more I hope I hear from them soon.”

While the Wolverines have yet to offer, McQuitty says an offer to play at Michigan would go a long ways in his recruitment.

“Yeah, if they want me to come down (for a visit) I would, no problem,” he said. “That would mean a lot to me if they offered. They are a team I watched growing up and also they’re in a conference I like.”

The 6-2, 185-pounder has already been on campus visits to Arkansas, Alabama and Notre Dame, among others. However, he noted he is done for the summer and is eager to begin his junior season.

“I’m ready,” he said. “We have a home opener at Missouri, so that is exciting and our team has a target on our back this year because we won a state championship last year, so our team is ready to prove ourselves once again.”
