2017 DB Thomas Had a 'Great" U-M Visit

Detroit (Mich.) King 2017 DB Ambry Thomas discusses how his Michigan barbecue visit went and more.

One of Michigan’s top in-state targets for next year’s class is Detroit King speedster Ambry Thomas.

Thomas, along with other top recruits, headed down to Ann Arbor for an opportunity to connect with the Wolverine coaching staff for their annual barbecue at the Big House.

“It went great,” Thomas told The Michigan Insider. “The coaches made me feel at home. They told me how much they would love for me to be a Wolverine.”

The 5-foot-11, 160-pounder has been up to Michigan a few times already, but after his latest visit, his interest in U-M is on the rise.

“I’m a lot much more (interested) than I was,” said Thomas.

The highly touted four-star lockdown defender had plenty of fun during his time at the BBQ and good food to eat as well.

“The food was pretty good (laughter),” said Thomas. “I ate everything (laughter).”

What would Thomas rank this visit from his previous other trips up to Ann Arbor?

“Nine out of 10,” said Thomas.
