Already considered one of Michigan’s top targets for its 2017 class, Orchard Lake (Mich.) St. Mary’s wide receiver K.J. Hamler has continued to build his relationship with U-M’s coaching staff since receiving his offer from the Wolverines back in May.
And his relationship continued to blossom during his latest trip to Ann Arbor on Sunday, when the four-star standout attended Michigan’s annual recruiting bonanza – Barbecue at the Big House.
The barbecue itself, is what stood out, Hamler says.
“The best part was the barbecue,” he said. “Just being bale to see new recruits up there that I haven’t seen before and becoming friends with them, it was a great time up there. I had a lot of fun.”
After the event was finished, Hamler admits Michigan is trending in the right direction in his recruitment.
“It was a good feeling,” Hamler said. “I think everybody up there likes Michigan. I think I got a better feeling about Michigan then I have ever had before. Just got to know the coaches better and got to talk to them more and get to know what they’re about. It was a good time up there.”
Adding: “I like everything about Michigan. Michigan is a good school, good education, and a good football team. Hopefully I can grow more of a bond with them.”
Next up Hamler says he’ll take one more visit before getting ready for his junior season.
“I am probably going to checkout Michigan State in the next week or so,” he said on upcoming visits. “I haven’t been up there all summer. I would like to check them out.”
Hamler says his plan is to come back to Michigan for its home opener against Oregon State.
