Peers Vote Beilein Best Offensive Coach

CBS Sports conducted an anonymous poll which saw John Beilein named the best offensive college coach in the country.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – John Beilein has earned the respect of his peers by coaching and leading his basketball program the right way.

He also earns respect for his offensive gameplan as well.

According to CBS Sports’ Candid Coaches series hosted by Sam Vecenie, Beilein was rated as the best offensive coach as voted by over 100 anonymous Division I coaches. Vecenie said that Beilein garnered 16.9 percent of the vote.

“John Beilein’s offenses have been incredibly successful over the last few years,” Vecenie added in the video. “Back when he had Trey Burke in 2013, his offense was actually the highest rated ever since KenPom has been accumulating offensive statistics back in 2002.”

Beilein was voted ahead of the likes of Davidson’s Bob McKillop, Wisconsin’s Bo Ryan, Gonzaga’s Mark Few and Duke’s Mike Krzyewski.

Michigan basketball starts the 2015-2016 campaign Nov. 6 with an exhibition game against Le Moyne College.
