2016 Top 100 PG Xavier Simpson commits to U-M

After a late push, Scout's Top 100 PG Xavier Simpson commits to U-M.

Lima, Ohio – The Michigan basketball program has found its point guard for the 2016 class.

After making a late push, 2016 four-star point guard Xavier Simpson announced on Wednesday at his high school, Lima High, that he has committed to John Beilein and the Wolverines.

Originally, Simpson was set to announce between Illnois, Iowa State, Miami and Wisconsin.

The five-foot-ten, 155-pound guard is ranked the 55th player in the 2016 class on the Scout network. Scout also ranks him as the number one point guard in the state of Ohio and the 12th best at his position in the nation.

Simpson is the fourth commitment in the 2016 class, joining forward Ibi Watson and centers Austin Davis and Jon Teske as well.
