Last Friday Detroit (Mich.) Loyola defeated Pontiac (Mich.) Notre Dame Prep 42-17, but the Irish’s rising junior offensive tackle Kyle Sassack played a solid game in defeat.
“I think I controlled the guy across the line from me very well,” Sassack told The Michigan Insider. “I think that was one of the strongest games I’ve played so far. I’m still working on my feet moving through my blocks and getting my pad level lower every snap.”
At 6-7, 260-pounds, Sassack is a prospect of interest for the Wolverines. He visited Ann Arbor for the match up with UNLV a few weeks ago and headed back up last weekend the 31-0 blowout of BYU.
“The visit went great,” said Sassack after watching Michigan manhandle the Cougars. “I loved being able to go on the field and walk out from the tunnel. I talked to Coach Erik Campbell and he asked me how my team was doing this season and my height and weight.”
At the moment, Sassack has no offers, but is receiving interest from a few schools including Michigan. When it comes to the Wolverines the feeling is definitely mutual.
“I am very interested in Michigan,” said Sassack. “I love Michigan’s tradition and the love of the game Coach Harbaugh shows. My dad went to Michigan, so I grew up a Wolverine my whole life.”
“An offer from Michigan would mean a lot to me. I would love play as a Wolverines if the chance presents itself.”
