Michigan basketball ranked 25th in preseaon AP Poll, left off coaches poll

Michigan basketball is ranked no. 25 in the AP Preseason Poll and left off the top-25 rankings of the coaches poll.

ANN ARBOR, Mich -- With the exhibition season for basketball programs around the nation on the horizon, the major polls released its preseason rankings for the 2015-2016 season.

Despite being left off the preseason coaches poll, the Wolverines are ranked no. 25 in the AP Top-25 Preseason Poll to start off the season.

Six Big Ten teams, with U-M included, are featured in the Top-25. Purdue (23), Wisconsin (17), Indiana (15), Michigan State (13) and Maryland (3) are currently ranked in the preseason Top-25. Many consider Maryland to be the early favorite to win the conference.

It is the fifth-straight season that the Wolverines are ranked on the AP Poll to begin the season.

The Big Ten is also well represented in the USA TODAY Preseason Coaches Poll as well. Purdue (tied with UCONN at no. 24), Wisconsin (17), Michigan State (13) and Maryland (3) representing the conference in the polls.

U-M tips-off its exhibition slate Friday, November 6 at the Crisler Center against Le Moyne College at 7 p.m.
