The York Pa. Daily Record: Henne Interview

Here are pertinent snippets from the article on West Lawn Pa. quarterback Chad Henne. It's a good read as the Henne decision date comes nearer.

"Wilson High School quarterback Chad Henne said he is still far from deciding his college football future."

"Next Thursday, Henne will make his final official visit, a three-day trip to Miami. In the past week, the Henne caravan stopped at Tennessee and Georgia. He previously made visits to Penn State and Michigan.

"Henne is slated to make his decision during an Aug. 7 news conference.

"Right now it's pretty much wide open between those five," Henne said during a preseason kickoff event sponsored by Prime Time Sports Television and Body Zone Sports Complex in Reading. "Pretty much I know where I'll be once I get back (from Miami). Once I see that campus and see what it's all about, I'll base my decision on that. I'll probably make my decision when I come home and I'll know where I'm going to go."

"While some insiders say his two favorites are Penn State and Michigan, Henne said the field is open. Still, those two are the most aggressive pursuers.

"In June, Henne received a personal tour of the Michigan campus from Wolverines quarterback John Navarre.

"Walking around with him, it gave you chills, seeing what he's been through," Henne said. "He kind of just got thrown into the oven like I did when I was a freshman. Everyone didn't like him at first because he didn't perform well, but now that he's picking up the offense and knows what he's doing, everybody's enjoying him and coming to watch him. To be around him and see how smart he is, it's a reflection on Michigan and the way their quarterbacks are."
