ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Jake Butt is your Big Ten tight end of the year.
And there is no doubt he should’ve been.
Through 12 games, he leads the conference with 48 catches for 620 yards at the tight end position, to go along with his three touchdown catches this season.
He was also named All-Big Ten first teamer by both the coaches and media.
With six more catches, Butt can pass Bennie Joppru (53 catches in 2002) for U-M’s single season mark.
Still, however, if Butt chooses to come back for his senior season, he can pass U-M great Jack Clancy (132 catches, 1,919 yards) for the all-time receiving/yards career records in school history.
