ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Led by Caris LeVert’s 25 points and Duncan Robinson’s 19 points off the bench, Michigan defeated Houston Baptist 82-57 today at Crisler Center.
But it was Robinson’s shooting that was the story.
With the Wolverines up 37-28 at the half, Robinson blitzed Houston Baptist’s defense with four straight 3s, finishing 5-of-9 from beyond the arc.
Not to be outdone, LeVert would hit two triples to go along with his team-high eight rebounds. Ricky Doyle added seven rebounds of his own.
Aubrey Dawkins added 16-points, including 3-of-4 from 3s.
While Spike Albrecht didn’t score, he played 12 minutes, finishing with four assists. But even with hips not 100 percent, he dove for a lose ball with U-M up double digits late in the game.
Michigan (6-2) shot 28-of-58 from the field at 48.3 percent rate. U-M shot 47.8 percent from 3s, outpacing Houston Baptist 11-5 from beyond the arc.
