The recruiting road finally came to an end for Devin Bush Jr. last week. After helping Pembroke Pines (Fla.) Flanagan to a state title Saturday the three-star linebacker informed all those following his recruitment that the deliberation process was already over.
“I am glad I made my decision,” Bush Jr. told Scout.com. “I am happy with it.”
“It was very hard,” Bush Jr. said. “There is a lot of stuff going on in recruiting, trying to win state, trying to play in the playoffs, focus with recruiting on the side. Getting late night phone calls from coaches. It was hard."
The Under Armour all American’s final four is a who’s who of college football consisting of Auburn, Georgia, Florida State, and Michigan Wolverines. There were a number of factors that went into selecting the victor, but ultimately it came down to a feeling.
“It was just where I believe was the best place for me to succeed, the best opportunity for me to be the player I am and to flourish,” Bush Jr. said. “That was probably the biggest thing.”
“The big factor with him now is the opportunity,” his father Devin Bush Sr. told The Michigan Insider. “He is real energetic about the opportunity. He wants to be a part of something special because use to it after what those guys built at Flanagan.”
Bush Jr. will announce his choice at 12:30 PM at his school today. Most believe the school that earns his pledge will be either Florida State or Michigan.
Florida State has proximity on its side, his father won a national championship as a player there, and his sister plays on the softball team.
Michigan will be the collegiate home of Flanagan teammates Devin Gil and Josh Metellus, and he has very strong bonds with the coaching staff thanks to multiple visits over the past year and a satellite camp the Wolverines conducted in South Florida.
