ORLANDO, Fla. – Dallas (Texas) Bishop Dunne cornerback Chevin Calloway is already rated one of the players in the 2017 class.
In fact, Scout.com’s No. 5 CB currently holds notable offers from Michigan Wolverines, Alabama, Baylor, Texas, Texas A&M and TCU among others.
On Saturday, however, he was on hand for the Under Armour All-American Game as part of the “Fab 50” junior invites in attendance, and The Michigan Insider was able to catch up with the four-star standout to get his latest thoughts on the Wolverines.
“I like Michigan a lot,” he said. “I like what they are doing with the program. I like how Jim Harbaugh is turning the program around. They are someone I am really looking at.
“I like Michigan, they are a pretty good school.”
That being said, the Lone Star State prospect says he does plan to visit Michigan sometime this upcoming summer.
“In the summer I am going to try to go up there, my mom she works for American Airlines so it would be pretty easy to go down there,” he said. “I am looking forward to it, though.”
Adding: “I would just want to see their facilities,” he said. “I would like to meet the coaches and be around their environment, and see the campus and see how it is. And mostly talk to the players and see what they are all about.”
Whether he chooses Michigan or not, Calloway has a good idea of what he is looking for in a program.
“Right now I am just looking into what scheme fits me more,” Calloway said. “I’m looking for what type of coaches they have. I’m for a school that has my major I want to enroll in. I’m also looking for a school with the right environment as well, where I can be good on and off the field.”
