2017 Bedford (Ohio) three-star wide receiver Trent Cloud talks Michigan, Michigan State from Army junior combine.

One of the top wide receivers in the Midwest in the 2017 class is Beford (Ohio) three-star Trent Cloud.

Recently clocking a 4.50 40-time and a 35-inch vertical at the Army junior combine, Cloud is coming off a strong junior season as well.

"It went good," Cloud told The Michigan Insider. "I played both sides so my offensive position I really wasn't on the field a whole lot. This year I'll mainly play offense."

The 6-foot-1, 186-pound pass catcher already holds three offers from Wisconsin, Georgia State and Miami (Ohio).

This spring, Cloud plans to take a visit tour through the Midwest, possibly including a couple of powers in the Big Ten.

"Michigan State just sent me a couple of letters and Michigan too," Cloud said.

Asked for his thoughts on the Spartans, Cloud stated, "I thought they would do better in the Cotton Bowl but it's cool."

As for the Wolverines, Cloud is impressed with what's being built.

"Michigan, they've got their program back cause they've got Jim Harbaugh now," he said.

While Cloud's recruiting picture is likely to increase in size moving forward, the focus will be as much off the field as it is on.

"Mainly academics because football isn't going to be forever. I want to make sure I have an education and then the way the coaching staff is and the way they treat their players."
