Already with 18 offers to his name, Virginia Beach (Va.) Ocean Lakes’ defensive tackle Eric Crosby is one of the more sought after 2017 prospects from the east coast.
“There is a couple schools sticking out right now,” Crosby said at U.S. Army junior combine earlier this month. “I don’t have a top-five or top-ten yet.”
Although, when asked, Crosby did say Alabama, Florida State, Tennessee, Miami (Fla.) and Florida are some schools sticking out early on his recruitment.
Which begs the question: Is he only looking at schools in the south?
“Probably more likely SEC and stuff like that,” Crosby admits. “I know my mom wants me to stay close to home.”
However, Crosby did say he’s looking at some schools from the Midwest.
“I have an Ohio State offer,” Crosby said. “I have heard a little bit from Michigan. And Notre Dame, just no offers yet.”
And if Michigan or Notre Dame were to offer, Crosby says he would “definitely” plan on visiting sometime this year.
“If got the offer(s), I would definitely would take the time to go up there and check it out,” Crosby said.
As far as his main deciding factors when choosing a program, Crosby says distance will play major role among others.
“How close the school is to my home,” he said. “How much playing time I will get. What position I will be playing.”
