Signing Day Capsule: QB Brandon Peters

Get to know 2016 Michigan Quarterback and signee Brandon Peters on national signing day.

Brandon Peters

This is a recruit that was identified and targeted by Jim Harbaugh and staff in the early stages of 2015. He gave his pledge to the Wolverines in May and went on to have a very successful senior season which included a meteoric rise up the Scout rankings for Pro-Style quarterbcks. Peters enrolled to Michigan early once his appearance in the Army All American Game was over.

"Good height and is continuing to fill his frame in. Is a good athlete who can run and escape pressure, but he also shows good awareness and feel in the pocket. Gets rid of the ball quickly and has the arm to make throws to the sideline and drive the ball downfield. As he gets bigger and stronger, that should only increase. Smart kid, tough, calm under pressure. Must continue to work on reading defenses and going through his progressions." - Allen Trieu

"I know [Michigan has] Jim Harbaugh so that is a good step in the right direction for sure. Being an NFL coach appeals a little bit. He has good experience with quarterbacks, so that is a good thing.”

Michigan is receiving a talented quarterback in Peters. He could come in right away and make the impending quarterback competition interesting or he could redshirt his first year to soak up Harbaugh's teachings and the playbook. Having a winter and spring semester in front of him will help out big time. Either way, we're confident that Harbaugh has a quarterback he will be able to groom in the years to come.
