HIS RECRUITING STORY
Once Michigan offered Chris Evans, it appeared that the Wolverines were destined to end up with the young running back. That's exactly what happened in June as Evans pledged to the Wolverines shortly after the Indianapolis leg of the "Summer Swarm" tour. A late offer by Ohio State made things interesting for the Wolverines with Evans planning on taking an official visit to the Buckeyes. However, that official visit was canceled and Evans decided to stay committed to U-M.
"All-purpose back who could easily be a slot in college. Excellent hands and pass-catching ability. Very comfortable running routes. A smooth kid who glides through traffic. Has good, maybe not elite speed and can make cuts and moves while going full speed. He's elusive and does a great job of finding running lanes. Not necessarily built like a tailback and can still add more bulk to his frame." - Allen Trieu
"The visit was really cool," Evans told Scout.com. "I got to walk around campus with Coach Harbaugh and not just a tour guide. You can tell he's really into it, and that makes a difference with his players."
“Coach Harbaugh is a top coach and Michigan is one of the most successful football teams in the country. You really can't go wrong with Michigan. I hope this opens up more doors for me."
Wherever he ends up on the field, Michigan will be get an extremely athletic and fast player. Good enough to play on the offense and defense, Harbaugh and staff have the luxury of developing Evans and being able to place him wherever they feel he fits best in the coming years.
