HIS RECRUITING STORY
Eddie McDoom's recruitment has had its fair share of twists and turns before becoming a Michigan signee. Originally an Oregon commit with plenty of interest in Michigan, McDoom wanted to take an official visit to Ann Arbor in January and had his scholarship pulled by the Ducks. After that happened, McDoom told The Michigan Insider that the Wolverines were his number one school heading into his official visit. A few days after the visit was over, McDoom committed to the Wolverines.
"McDoom was a late addition to the Under Armour All-American, but he definitely belonged with the best of the best in nearby Orlando. He's a quick-twitch athlete that consistently created separation off the line of scrimmage and kept defenders on their toes. McDoom has battled drops at times in the past, but he was consistent and made the most out of his opportunities. Really did a good job of sticking his foot in the grass and running crisp routes." -- Greg Biggins
“He’s a very easy going guy and very cool to talk to,” McDoom said of Fisch. “He’s very friendly and a good guy to be around and knows how to keep a conversation. He’s been recruiting me heavy since December and even November. Even after my commitment to Oregon, he didn’t back off and was still on me for taking my official. He kept reminding me of the great things Michigan has to offer and he’s been a blast.”
McDoom just might have the speed and athleticism to put him in a position to contribute in his first year on campus. Despite playmakers with experience on the depth chart ahead of him, there isn't a rush to get him out on the field. However, if there's a need for him, Harbaugh and staff will find a spot for him. Especially considering passing game coordinator Jedd Fisch has been extremely interested in McDoom.
