ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Michigan coach John Beilein calls it how he sees it.
Well, that was the case after No. 10 Michigan State dominated Michigan 89-73 today at Crisler Center, as Beilein gave nothing but high praise to his in-state rival.
“Obviously they are much better team than us,” Beilein said of MSU. “They’re really an elite team.”
MSU (20-4, 7-4 Big Ten) was led by seniors Bryn Forbes’ 29 points on 8-10 shooting from 3s, while fellow senior Denzel Valentine netted almost a triple-double with 21 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.
“They’re better than us, they are more experienced than us,” Beilein said. “Denzel Valentine, we can talk all you want about what a great performance Forbes (had). He doesn’t get any of that stuff unless he has guys passing to him at the right time. And Valentine is just a separator tonight.”
And Beilein's Wolverines has lost two straight.
Next up, Michigan (17-7, 7-4 Big Ten) plays at Minnesota on Wednesday at 9 p.m.
