The Wolverines looked to have their presence felt on the West Coast and made a statement in their last recruiting class signing three of the top prospects in the region. Michigan has already targeted many other highly touted recruits for this next class, but some still are hoping to hear more from the Maize and Blue including Independence (OR.) Central junior defensive tackle Marlon Tuipulotu.
“Nothing serious yet,” Tuipulotu told The Michigan Insider. “I just get mail from them that's all. I am interested. They would be a great school to play for, they are definitely back on the rise.”
While Tuipulotu’s familiarity with the Wolverines isn’t very high,he's very familiar with the head coach Jim Harbaugh.
“I don’t know much really, but they do have a great coach in Jim Harbaugh and they got a lot of great recruits this past signing day,” said Tuipulotu. “He’s a great coach. It looks like he’s turning the program back to the way it used to be and also really good at recruiting.”
With early offers from BYU, California, Oregon, USC, Oregon State, Utah, Washington, Washington State and Boise State, the 6-2, 275-pound physical defensive lineman still is a hot commodity. However, an offer from the Wolverines is one he would like to add to the list.
“It would be great to get offered by them,” said Tuipulotu. “It would be a big deal for me. That would be the goal to make it over there, but yeah, I'd like to visit Michigan.”
Tuipulotu has no favorites at this stage in his recruitment
