The Marich Report 2/20

Recapping the week in Michigan football recruiting. A number of new offers, the Wolverines making several top lists, visit reactions and more.

Top List

Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy junior center Cesar Ruiz sent out a tweet stating he will be announcing his top schools soon. I expect the Wolverines to be one of those schools.

Brooklyn (NY.) Poly Prep junior offensive tackle Isaiah Wilson announced on Friday a top five of Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia, LSU and Michigan in no order. The massive 6-6, 280-pounder recently visited Ann Arbor earlier this month

Miami (Fla.) Christopher Columbus junior cornerback Trajan Bandy announced his current top ten and in order, which has Michigan No. 3 on the list behind Tennessee and Oklahoma. The Wolverines last recruiting classes landed his teammate and friend in Josh Uche.

The McCaffrey Effect

Roseville (Calif.) junior tight end Jimmy Jaggers took notice of star signal-caller Dylan McCaffrey’s commitment to Michigan and told me, “I think that’s a big one for sure. It kind of shows that they’re going to bring in top recruits just like their 2016 class and it’s going to continue to go uphill for sure.”

Brunswick (Ga.) Glynn Academy junior athlete Deejay Dallas

Week Day Visitors

River Rouge (Mich.) sophomore safety Reggie Pearson visited Ann Arbor on Wednesday and said the trip was great and he’s very interested in the Wolverines. Reasons why he likes them: “Michigan is in the top five in engineering in the country, its close to home and it’s historic Michigan.”

Ann Arbor (Mich.) Pioneer junior running back/linebacker Antjuan Simmons made the short trip over to Michigan on Wednesday and had a really good visit largely due to the great vibe he got from defensive coordinator Don Brown.

The Wolverines hosted a big group from Oak Park on Friday in 2017 offensive tackle and Michigan commit, Ja’Raymond Hall, 2019 quarterback Dwan Mathis, 2018 cornerback Robert Daniel, 2020 safety Enzo Jennings, 2017 linebacker Dylan Steakhouse and 2017 wide receiver Robert Zanders
