ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Senior Night for Michigan not only ended in a sad way for Spike Albrecht and Caris LeVert, the entire team also felt the Senior Night blues as Iowa put the Wolverines' postseason hopes on the brink with a 71-61 victory on Saturday night.
- No answer for Uthoff: The Wolverines couldn't seem to have an answer for Jarrod Uthoff as he finished the night with a team-high 29 points. Uthoff manged to find his way to the basket and had many good looks throughout the night.
- Couldn't put Iowa away: U-M certainly made things interesting when it cut Iowa's lead to as little as five late in the second half. With the Hawkeyes' continuing to miss, the Wolverines couldn't seem to find any momentum to find the lead. The Hawkeyes eventually found its stride and put the Wolverines away.
- NIT or NCAA's? With the loss against Iowa, U-M has certainly made it extremely hard to consider the team NCAA tournament bound. Outside of a miraculous run in the Big Ten Tournament and some major help, the Wolverines could be on the outside looking in once again. However, if the team doesn't make the NCAA's, an NIT bid is likely. Obviously, that's not the outcome the team wanted.
- Sad end for Albrecht and LeVert: You can't help but feel sorry for Albrecht and LeVert as you see them receive their framed jersey in street clothes. The season was meant to mean a lot for both players as they were team captains and expected to play a major role. Just like the season ended, it encapsulated the feelings the two had ending the season looking on the sidelines.
