Michigan has continued their contact with Florence (Ala.) junior safety J’Marick Woods and he talks about his recent discussion with the Wolverines, visit plans to Ann Arbor and more

Florence (Ala.) junior safety J’Marick Woods has been a top priority for Michigan early in the 2017 class.

The Wolverines' coaching staff has kept in constant contact with the four-star prospect and recently checked in once again.

“I have heard from Michigan recently in Coach (Jim) Harbaugh and Coach (Chris) Partridge,” Woods told The Michigan Insider. “It was about a few days ago and they wanted to see how I was doing.”

The 6-foot-4, 196-pound athlete is familiar with Ann Arbor, previously taking an unofficial visit, now planning to make a return trip to see the Wolverines this spring.

“I'm lanning to visit on April 1” said Woods. “Still trying to figure out my transportation, but that’s the plan.”

One reason for Woods strong interest in the Wolverines stems from his connection with Coach Harbaugh, a person that believed in Woods from the get go.

“He’s a person I can trust,” said Woods. “When I first met him, he was just really genuine in what he was talking about. He has a great vibe. I love that they were the first to offer me too. It shows me they noticed my potential first.”

Despite claiming no early favorites so far, he knows Michigan will remain a contender in his recruitment until the bitter end.

“I don’t have a top list, but when I do, Michigan will be in there,” said Woods. “I want to (have a top list) before spring starts. There also will be a lot of things that will factor in (when considering schools).”

Woods will visit Duke this weekend and also plans to see Florida and Penn State this spring as well.
