Henne Watch Begins! And GBW Is There!

Win, lose or draw (well, I guess 'draw is impossible), GBW's Don Hoekwater has already made the cross-country treck for you -- by Greyhound Bus, over hill and dale, through desert, mountain, cornfield, and coalfield. And as of 7 AM Wed. morning Don is standing on the sidewalk of The Body Zone outside Reading, Pa. -- waiting for TOMORROW's 11AM Chad Henne presser to begin!

Plus two more decisions! (one pending, one not)

Okay, I exaggerated a LITTLE. Giddy with expectation I guess!

But Don is THERE, having flown from San Fran. to Chicago, then to Detroit, then to Harrisburg, where he caught a car to Reading -- just to be there to bring it 'virtually' live to you ... win, lose or draw. And, knowing Don, he IS probably sitting in front of the The Body Zone 24 hours ahead, digital voice recorder in hand! His "Henne Watch" has begun!

Meantime, here is more from the Harrisburg Patriot News 'leak' on Chad Henne (6-3, 230 lbs., 4.6 in the 40, 3.4 GPA) from West Lawn, Pa., Wilson.

Wilson head coach Jim Cantafio Cantafio told The Patriot-News last spring, "[Henne is] by far the best football player I've ever been around or had an opportunity to coach." That assessment includes Wilson alumnus Kerry Collins, who later attended PSU and now is the starting quarterback for the New York Giants. "Kerry is, obviously, a great quarterback," Cantafio continued. "But, at this stage of the game, heading into his senior year, Chad is a better quarterback."

By the way, to remind you of two more decisions.

Dan Connor (6-3, 220 lbs., 4.6 in the 40, 3.2 GPA/1050 SAT) from Wallingford (near Philly), Penn., Strath Haven was to officially announce his decision this coming weekend between PSU and Notre Dame, with U-M hanging on by its finger nails. However, Dan did his 'turndowns' and chose PSU in a news conference yesterday according to the Harrisburg Patriot News. (Click here for the story.)

And Gerald Cadogan (6-6, 310 lbs., 5.1 in the 40, 370 lb. bench press, 3.8 GPA/18 ACT) from Portsmith, Oh. may pick U-M in the next week or so, if he gets his U-M offer 'firmed up.
