Westerville (Ohio.) South 2018 athlete Jaelen Gill is considered to be one of the top players coming up in the Midwest. The very versatile and athletic player recently went to check out Ann Arbor, which, according to him, didn’t disappoint at all.
“Visit was great,” Gill told The Michigan Insider about his visit to Ann Arbor. “I was very happy with everything. I spoke with professors and all of the coaches, including (Head) Coach (Jim) Harbaugh. He's a real funny guy (laughter). I had a blast.”
The 6-1, 180-pound Gill was able to sit down and chat with the Wolverines headman and saw a very relatable side to him.
“My talk (with Harbaugh) was great,” said Gill. “We talked baseball, football, and even meeting the president. It was cool to see that someone like him can even be star struck. It shows that we're all human. But he was funny because he was just telling stories about how he couldn't hit the ball out the infield his senior year because of his dad (laughter).”
The visit to Michigan definitely piqued Gill’s interest in the Wolverines in large part to learning about the strong family atmosphere that surrounds their program.
“Very interested now,” said Gill. “The time they took to make sure I understood that it's a family environment and that no matter what, after I graduate I'd have a good job out of college.”
Gill maintains no schools are sticking out for his services at the moment but does intend to see more places including a return trip back to Ann Arbor.
“I will UCLA from the 30th-1st this month,” said Gill. "Most definitely (will visit Michigan again).”
