Deandre Wilder Talks Michigan Trip

The Wolverines have worked to establish a presence in the Sunshine State under Jim Harbaugh and they recently hosted one of the top linebacker prospects in 2017 Miami Carol City outside linebacker Deandre Wilder. He talks about that visit, his interest and more

The Michigan Insider made it out to Chicago to watch many of the top Midwest players and a few out of state talents participate in the Chicago Showcase. Arguably, the top prospect in attendance was 2017 Miami Carol City outside linebacker Deandre Wilder.

The 6-2, 192-pound outside linebacker ranks as a four-star recruit by and holds offers from the likes Michigan, Miami, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, LSU, Notre Dame and whole host of others. He recently went on a Midwest tour to see plenty of schools including Michigan and find out what all the Wolverines have to offer.

One of the main keys in Michigan’s recruiting efforts to get this Sunshine State standout on campus was the job of Coach Devin Bush Sr. Wilder has built a pretty good relationship with Coach Bush and connected once again on his visit in Ann Arbor.

“I really like the coaching staff," Wilder said. "Coach Bush, me and him laugh around and play around. He was at Flanagan and we played against them in a scrimmage and they really had our game plan and made me run around like a dog.”
