In front of 400+ PSU fans at The Body Zone in Reading Pa., with his U-M-garbed family sitting at a table nearby, Chad Henne (6-3, 230 lbs., 4.6 in the 40, 3.4 GPA) from West Lawn, Pa., Wilson walks into the room at 11:30 AM. After introductions, and a speech by his coach, Chad strolls to the mic ...

"I am annnouncing for The University of Michigan!"

Our on-scene reporter Don Hoekwater will have interviews and pictures for you as the day (and days) unfolds.

Henne is's #13 prospect. In Prep Football Report next rankings, coming out soon, Tom Lemming recently told me he will rank Henne as one of the Top Ten prospects in the Country.

As a junior Henne passed for 2,200 yards and 23 touchdowns, and only three interceptions.

What does landing Henne meann? In this reporter's (Tom Beaver's) opinion, Henne is the best high school quarterback I've ever seen, edging by a nose Drew Henson and Clayton Richard. His 'edge' is physical maturity and football-skill 'polish'. Chad presents himself, both on the field and off, like a college sophomore. And as far as Michigan goes -- the Wolverines will have only three quarterbacks on the field this coming spring practice (Richard and Matt Gutierrez)
