Wolverines Offer Massive Alabama Offensive Lineman

One of the most highly regarded offensive linemen in the nation is Gadsden (Ala.) Gadsden City offensive tackle Toryque Bateman, who holds a Wolverine offer. The Scout 300 prospect talks about his interest in Michigan, the likelihood of a visit and more

At 6-8, 300-pounds, Gadsden (Ala.) Gadsden City offensive tackle Toryque Bateman is one of the most imposing and physically dominate prospects in the nation. The Scout 300 recruit has reeled in several offers so far during his recruitment including one from the Wolverines. He reflects back at landing his Michigan offer and his thoughts on their program.

“My head coach told me and I talked to (Offensive Analyst and Recruiting Coordinator) Coach Bam (Richards) and he told me it was official,” Bateman told The Michigan Insider. “He also just told me about the coaching staff and that they are very interested in me. I was happy to receive (the offer) and blessed to have a chance to basically be coached by an entire NFL coaching staff.”

While his knowledge of the Maize and Blue is limited, Bateman is very much aware of the impressive coaching pedigree from head coach Jim Harbaugh.

“I'm very interested in them and I don't know much, but I know that Coach Harbaugh has a great background,” said Bateman. “I think he's very straight forward and honestly that's really what you want in a coach.”

With an offer now in his pocket from the Wolverines, Bateman hopes to check out Ann Arbor soon.

“Yes, most definitely (I plan on visiting),” said Bateman. “I don't have a set date yet. I'm blessed to be recognized by them and I am looking forward to visiting them.”

At the moment, Bateman has no top list in his recruitment
