Michigan is now "definitely" in the mix for 2017 San Antonio (Tex.) John Jay offensive lineman Matthew Huhn.

San Antonio (Tex.) John Jay 2017 offensive tackle Matthew Huhn has slowly become more of a well-known commodity on the recruiting trail and even has the attention of the Michigan coaching staff. That attention reached new heights this week when the Wolverines extended an offer.

An emerging prospect out of the Lone Star State is San Antonio (Tex.) John Jay 2017 offensive tackle Matthew Huhn. The talented lineman has seen his offer list grow in the past few months and grabbed another offer when the Wolverines surprisingly came calling.

“I was on a phone call with the defensive line coach (Greg Mattison) and then he got (offensive coordinator) coach (Tim) Drevno on the phone and he offered me,” Huhn told The Michigan Insider. “I was practically speechless. Not at all did I expect it. I first got followed by them (on Twitter) yesterday. We also talked about film a little bit, where I lived, academics and the usual.”

The 6-7, 270-pound physical offensive lineman plans to give the Maize and Blue a serious consideration especially due to his northern roots.

“I’m definitely giving (Michigan) a good look,” said Huhn. “I used to live in the north in Lacrosse, Wisconsin, so it is a bit nostalgic. Not at all (am I bothered by the weather either).”

With such a big offer suddenly on the table for Huhn, he has a lot to think about, but does hope to learn more about the Wolverine program this fall.

“No clue right now (on a top list),” said Huhn. "I have a lot to take in. I’ll possibly (visit Michigan) for an official, but no clue other than that. It’s just an absolute honor and I can't thank the coaching staff enough.”
