FT. WAYNE, Ind. – Currently, three-star 2017 shooting guard Greg Elliott doesn’t hold an offer from Michigan. However, that hasn’t stopped the Wolverines from showing the Detroit (Mich.) East English Village Prep standout significant interest as of late.
In fact, U-M’s coaching staff has become frequent visitors at Elliott’s open gym practices.
“It’s a real high interest level,” Elliott says of Michigan. “They come see me all the time. I feel like they are real family to me.”
While no offer has been made by U-M, Elliott is confident if everything plays out, an offer from the Wolverines should be coming his way soon.
“It’s coming,” Elliott says on earning a potential U-M offer. “As long as I keep my grades up and keep playing well – it will be there.”
Adding: “They are telling me to keep playing.”
And what would an offer from the Wolverines mean in Elliott’s recruitment?
“It would mean a lot,” Elliott said. “That’s my favorite team college wise.”
Elliot says his favoritism of Michigan is “legit” and plans to go back for another visit this May.
“I want to see if they have a new culture since they got new coaches,” Elliott said. “I want to see how the feel is and if everything still feels the same.”
With notable offers from George Mason, Kent State and Toledo, Elliot says he still hasn’t put a set timeline on his commitment.
“I really don’t know when I’m going to make my decision yet,” Elliott said. “I’m just going to let the summer play out. Before high school I will make a decision.”
Upcoming, Elliott says he has planned visits to Toledo, DePaul and Xavier.
