Mission Viejo (Calif.) sophomore cornerback Olaijah Griffin knows a thing or two about receiving attention. Growing up the son of rapper Warren G, his family has been in the spotlight but is now looking to pave his own path and is doing so on the gridiron.
The Golden State standout is rated as one of the top defensive backs on the West Coast for the 2018 class with plenty of early offers. He picked up another offer recently from the Wolverines.
“I was at my track meet then I got a call from my coach saying I just got offered to Michigan,” Griffin told The Michigan Insider. “I started flipping around then later that day I had a great conversation with (Michigan Offensive Assistant) Jimmie Dougherty and he made it an official offer. He said I had a lot of talent and loved my film, then we talked about the school and try to take a visit soon to meet the coaching staff in person.”
The 5-11.5, 170-pound talented corner now after landing his latest offer from the Maize and Blue has seen his interest significantly rise in the Wolverines.
“I have a high interest in the University of Michigan because they have a great coaching staff and the school looks great. After a visit, I’ll know more of what my interest will be.”
Griffin does plan to visit Michigan, but has nothing set at the moment
