Michigan hasn't been shy in the offer department on the recruiting trail as of late, one of their latest offers during this offer spree was sent out to Stone Mountain (Ga.) Stephenson junior defensive end and Alabama commit, Aaron Sterling.
Defensive Line Coach Greg Mattison gave the news to the 6-2, 260-pound relentless defensive lineman earlier this week, who was left very shocked by this unexpected offer, but thankful as well.
“Coach Mattison told me (about the offer) and I was happy,” Sterling told The Michigan Insider. “He said they really like me up there and he was telling me how amazing it is in Michigan from the stadium, fans and everything. I was surprised (by the offer) because I didn’t think that they were interested. It means a lot to me and I really thank them for the offer.”
Although, the Peach State defensive lineman has been committed to Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide since Christmas, he still wants to look further at his Maize and Blue offer and hopefully take a visit to Ann Arbor as well.
“Yeah, I have interest,” said Sterling. “I like that it is a prestigious school, but I have no clue other than that because I have never been there. Yes (plan on visiting), but don’t know when.”
One coach that has grabbed the attention of football fans, coaches and recruits is the polarizing Wolverine headman, Jim Harbaugh. Someone that Sterling thinks very highly of.
“I think he is a great coach and I could (see myself play for him),” said Sterling. “He has a great history of success.”
