One of the most versatile and talented upcoming defensive linemen in the Lone Star State is 2018 Cedar Hill (Tex.) sophomore defensive lineman Shabazz Dotson. The standout youngster has yet to see his recruitment really take off, but could now see it rise since he landed an offer out of the blue from the Wolverines.
“My coach told me after practice,” Dotson told The Michigan Insider. “At first, I was like no way, than my position coach came jumping on me, then I knew it was real. I was really shocked. I just have to give glory to God and to my teammates and the coaching staff at my school.”
Since receiving an offer from Michigan, the 6-3, 271-pounder’s interest has went up towards the Maize and Blue and possibly could try to check out the campus down the road as well.
“Very interested,” said Dotson. "It is a great university and have a good academic program from what I heard. Hopefully so (I can visit too).”
Dotson claims no early favorites in his recruitment
