During the evaluation period Michigan tight ends coach Jay Harbaugh has traveled all over California to take a look at a number of the Golden State's top prospects. One of his most recent stops was Danville (Calif.) Monte Vista where he caught a glimpse junior tight end Erik Krommenhoek. The school talented youngster later made contact with Harbaugh via phone and learned about an upcoming event where they could get better acquainted.
“He told us about their camp at Antioch High this summer and told Nate (Landman) and that he'd love to see us there,” said Krommenhoek.
The 6-5, 237-pounder said there's no doubt he will attend.
“Even if they weren't to offer, a chance to work with some of the best coaches is the nation is something I'm going to try and make sure I can attend so I can learn and get better,” stated Krommenhoek.
If he hasn't picked up an offer from th Wolverines by then he hopes to impress enough to do so during the camp.
“That would mean a lot (if Michigan offered),” said Krommenhoek. “I've grown up watching Michigan on television and an offer from them would be something that I would definitely consider and impact my recruitment.”
“I've only heard great things about the football program and the school and I'd love to be able to take a visit sometime soon and experience it for myself. Depending on how things go and where our relationship goes if their interest goes up, I’d love to take a visit. It's also a place where tight ends are successful and that's very intriguing as well.”
As one of the top tight ends on the West Coast Krommenhoek has already reeled in several offers. He hopes to begin refining his list in the very near future.
“I'm in the process of narrowing it down, but I don't have a real official list yet since I haven't had the chance to visit all the places that have offered me,” said Krommenhoek. “I’d like to be able to make a list here sometime soon.”null
