The Wolverines have been very active in the Lone Star State extending out several new offers and one of those being to Westfield (Tex.) sophomore defensive tackle Keondre Coburn.
One of the top interior defensive linemen in the state reflects on the moment he landed his offer from Michigan.
“After practice my coach told me to see him and we sat down and he told me that (Linebackers Coach) Chris Partridge wanted me to call him,” Coburn told The Michigan Insider. “I was thinking if a coach wanted me to call them, then it is about an offer, but I was so happy it was Michigan where my favorite head coach is at and that he wants me to be a part of his program. I’m truly blessed and still can't even really think about nothing else that the top school in the world wants me.”
The 6-1, 326-pounder is a space eater and demands double teams in the trenches, which has grabbed the notice of many programs and helped him pick up several early offers. His most recent from the Wolverines is one he's very excited about, especially knowing all the fan support they receive every Saturday.
"(I’m interested in Michigan) a lot, but got a long way to pick,” said Coburn. “I like how when you watch them on game day on TV, all you see is Michigan fans home and away.”
Moving forward, Coburn will look to learn more about the program when he heads up to Ann Arbor sometime this summer.
“I got to learn more when I go down there and visit” said Coburn. “I will this summer, but don't know which days, however, I am going down there.”
Coburn currently has no top list in his recruitment
