One of the top interior offensive linemen in the Midlands is Denton (Tex.) junior offensive guard Grant Polley. At 6-foot-4, 263-pounds, Polley displays good physicality, toughness and grit to play the position, which has helped him earn multiple offers including his most recent from the Wolverines. It was offer that definitely got him and his mom very pumped up about.
“I was extremely excited a school like Michigan would be interested in me, so I went and told every coach I could right away,” Polley told the Michigan Insider. “When I told my mom she screamed over the phone!”
Right after someone offers, I always call my mom first because she likes that kind of stuff and when I told her she said,”GRANT, I’M SO PROUD OF YOU!”, and by that point I had to go back to class. I wasn't shocked at her reaction because we all know how moms are (laughter).”
As the No. 50 ranked offensive guard in the country and a three-star recruit by Scout, the Lone Star State standout is being courted by several programs, but wants to look into Michigan further after landing an offer.
“Of course I need to visit first, but as of right now I'm very interested in an opportunity like Michigan,” Polley said. “No. 1 (I like about Michigan) for me is a chance to be a part of that great offensive line tradition. It’s in the works (on visiting Michigan too).”
Moving forward, Polley plans to hopefully have a top list after his visits to TCU and Colorado next weekend
