ADDISON, Ill. – While four-star standout Amir Riep isn’t naming a favorite anytime soon, the 2017 cornerback admits he’s still in constant talks with top programs, and you can count Michigan among them.
In fact, Riep, who stars at Cincinnati (Ohio) Colrerain, says he talks with Michigan cornerback coach Michael Zordich on a regular basis.
“Mike Zordich the DB’s coach, we talk on the phone,” Riep said. “We catch up, chop it up a little bit. We’ve just being hitting it up on the phone a couple times.”
Adding: “I’m still open interest with all the schools. I have a good time when I go up (to Michigan). So I am just trying to wait it all out and figure tings out. But Michigan (like) every school has been very good to me.”
And when or if he chooses to visit U-M again, Riep says he’ll be looking particularly at how coach Jim Harbaugh runs his program. .
“Just see the atmosphere and get with the players,” Riep said of his next potential U-M visit. “See how I feel around the players and things like that.”
Regardless of which school lands Riep, he says he’s looking for a program where he can play right away.
“Come in and be an impact (player) and come in and play,” Riep said. “That’s what I am trying to do, I ‘m trying to come in and play early.”
Currently, Riep has no decision timeline.
