Spiker ‘Excited’ Over Michigan Offer

Murrieta Valley (Calif.) sophomore wide receiver Marquis Spiker talks about his latest offer from the Wolverines, his Midwest ties and more.

Murrieta Valley (Calif.) sophomore wide receiver Marquis Spiker is a top rising talent on the West Coast. The Golden State pass-catcher holds several offers so far in his recruitment and recently added another offer from the Wolverines.

“(Passing Game Coordinator/Wide Receivers) Coach (Jedd) Fisch came by the school to watch practice and I was kind of surprised because he wasn’t wearing a Michigan shirt and when my coach told me he offered, I was really excited.”

Although, the 6-foot-3, 180-pound Spiker is on the opposite side of the country from Ann Arbor, he is not a stranger on his knowledge about the Maize and Blue.

“I have some family that lives in Michigan, so I’m pretty familiar with the university,” said Spiker. “Yeah, they are fans of Michigan. They say Michigan is great.”

Spiker currently has no top list and plans to enjoy the recruiting process. Michigan is a school of interest for him, but has his focus on having a big season next year.

“I’m still a sophomore, so I have a lot of time on my hands,” said Spiker. “They are a great school, but as of right now, I am just trying to work on my craft and win a state championship at Murrieta Valley this year.”

The four-star wide out currently doesn’t have a visit to Michigan set, but hopes to visit in the future
