Oxford (Ala.) junior inside linebacker K.J. Britt says a Michigan visit is in his future.

One of the top defensive recruits on the Michigan's recruiting board is Oxford (Ala.) junior inside linebacker K.J. Britt. The Wolverines have maintained consistent contact with the three-star linebacker and talk of a visit is picking up steam.

Michigan is on the prowl for physical linebackers to play in Don Brown’s attacking defense and one of targets that fits that bill is Oxford (Ala.) junior inside linebacker K.J. Britt.

“I hear from Michigan three or four times a week,” Britt told The Michigan Insider. “(The coaches I hear from are) Coach Bam, Coach Brown, Coach Wheatley and Coach Partridge.”

So, what is their message to the 6-0, 232-pounder?

“They want me," Britt replied. "I fit the system and I’m a top priority. Its big (that I’m a top priority to them).”

With offers from many of the nation's top programs, the Maize & Blue has been one of the main consistent schools in Britt’s recruitment. He bis connection with much of the staff began with his attendance at the Prattville (Ala.) satellite camp last summer, and his relationship with recruiting coordinator Antonio “Bam” Richards began even before that.

”We talk often,” said Britt. “He is like a mentor to me. We talk about everything. Yeah he is (easy to talk to), but he encourages me a lot to be the best I can be in everything.”

Jim Harbaugh has also forged a strong bond with the Alabama standout too.

“He is different, but I like him,” said Britt. “He is pretty cool to talk too.”

As of now, no visit to Ann Arbor has been set, but he insists he will eventually do so.
