SPRINGFIELD, Ohio. — The first commitment Michigan landed for their 2018 recruiting class came from Dayton (Ohio.) Dunbar physical linebacker Antwuan Johnson. He recently transferred to Dunbar High School from Springfield, which was the host to one of the many satellite camps the Wolverines and Jim Harbaugh are holding in June.
Despite recovering from an ankle injury, Johnson made the short trip over to the camp and got to meet the headman once again, who he’s forged a strong bond with. Someone he can talk to about anything with even including on a baby deer.
“Me and Coach Harbaugh talk a lot man,” Johnson said. “He’s like my boy. We got a coach player relationship already. We just talk about regular stuff. We don’t get into a lot of football stuff. We kind of just talk about life like last time we talked on the phone it was about a baby deer being born in his front yard and something like that. He was talking how the kids were getting attach to it and the mom came back. We just talk about random stuff like that.”
