Fort Meyers (Fla.) Dunbar 2017 linebacker Shanon Reid continues to bond with Michigan's coaching staff.

Michigan and South Florida joined forces on Saturday, as both programs played host to over 300 satellite camp participants in Fort Lauderdale.

Among the camp attendees, was Fort Meyers (Fla.) Dunbar 2017 linebacker Shanon Reid, who holds an offer from both schools.

“Just love to see the campus, it’s beautiful” he said afterwards. “This is my first time seeing the practice facility. Both of the schools that here are both recruiting me. So it was good to meet the coaching staffs on both sides.”

U-M’s Don Brown, however, has shown him the most interest so far from Michigan’s staff, says Reid.

“Just talking to Don Brown, even though he wasn’t out here I still got to meet some of the coaching staff,” Reid said of U-M. “Like they are really very interested in me. We talk like mostly everyday, it don’t even have to be a long text message, it can just be checking up on me. Hopefully I’ll get up there this summer.”

Reid says his vibe so far with Brown is “great” and is also building his relationship with U-M head coach Jim Harbaugh.

"Just meeting Jim Harbaugh that was a pleasure,” Reid said. “That was my first time. I had never got to meet him personally, knowing his history, that was great.”

Reid says Michigan, South Florida, Mississippi State, Maryland, Marshall, Tennessee, and West Virginia are all equally sticking out right now in his recruitment.

That being said, Reid says whichever school he decides to commit to this year, it must meet his certain criteria.

“Education will be No. 1,” he said. “Whichever school I can start at, because this year I will be graduating early in December. So that will be a jump to (schools) that, so they will really be interested in me.”

Reid says he plans to announce his top-five later this summer.
