New Jersey has become a home away from home for the Wolverines on the recruiting trail. Having signed several of the state’s top prospects as of late, holding a few satellite camps there and continuing to heavily recruit some of the next upcoming blue-chippers, Michigan is becoming well known name in the Garden State. One of those top prospects getting targeted early is Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep sophomore defensive end Tyler Friday, who recently checked out Ann Arbor and talked about his experience.
“It was great,” Friday told The Michigan Insider. “I really enjoyed myself. I saw a lot of the campus and the practice fields. I think it’s a great school all around.”http://www.scout.com/player/204039-tyler-friday
During his time on campus, the 6-foot-4, 255-pounder got to chat with several members of the coaching staff including Wolverine defensive line coach Greg Mattison, who he really connected with.
“I talked to the defensive coordinator (Don Brown), head coach (Jim Harbaugh), and the defensive line coach (Greg Mattison)," he said. "I really liked the defensive line coach. He was telling me how they run things and how he would love to have me. I like how he uses his players (on the defensive line) too.”
Friday already holds several early offers and is hearing from a host of others, but still remains open in the recruiting process.
“I’m interested in every school that recruits me,” said Friday.
