The month of June has been a very busy one for the Wolverine coaching staff, who has been traveling all over. However, the last few camps have been in Ann Arbor and the most recent was on Tuesday, which had several top performers including Fishers (Ind.) 2017 safety R.J. Potts. The Hoosier State standout discusses his solid camp performance and his visit afterwards as well.
“It went great,” Potts told The Michigan Insider. “It was a tremendous experience just getting out of the state of Indiana and competing with guys from all over. I felt like I did very good in all the drill and competitions.Yes I did (visit too). It went good. I loved all the coaches, and the campus as well. It was just an all around great environment to be in.”
The 6-foot-2, 180-pounder also spent time and talked with running backs coach Tyrone Wheatley, who he and his family felt very relaxed with.
“The main coach I talked to was Coach Wheatley,” said Potts. (He talked) just his point of view on Michigan because he went there and stuff and got a tour. He's a great guy man, him and my dad played together in the league. Oh yeah for sure (we are comfortable around him).”
While Potts doesn’t hold an offer from the Wolverines, if one were to come, then it would definitely be big.
“It would mean a lot knowing they have a great coaching staff and an offer from Jim Harbaugh,” said Potts.
Potts currently has no upcoming visits or camps this summer
