BEAVERTON, Ore. -- Bellaire (Texas) Episcopal’s Walker Little is the No. 1 OT prospect from Texas for a reason, he’s really that good. And that was evident, when he body slammed one of his opponents at The Opening Finals on Sunday, earning him high praises for his performance throughout the weekend.
“It was a great time out here, everyone got better I think,” Little said. “You really got to hone in on all of our skills. Got better every rep against great competition, it’s really a great experience for all of us.”
Little’s recruitment is heating up, too.
In fact, he already holds notable offers from Texas, Alabama and Stanford among others. And Michigan has been coming on strong as of late, he says.
“Coach (Jim) Harbaugh came into town a couple months back, he saw me out there and gave me an offer,” Little said. “I’ve been in contact with their offensive line coach (Tim Drevno) and a lot of their assistants as well. I’ve been talking to them and I’m definitely going to try to come up for a visit. It’s school I want to see and I’m definitely interested in.”
Drevno, who has NFL coaching experience, has continued to reach out to Little in recent months, says the four-star lineman.
“We’ve talked from time to time, I know he’s had a lot of success,” Little said of Drevno. “He’s coached in the NFL. He can definitely get players to the NFL. I was really impressed with him. I really like his coaching style. Now it’s about building a relationship.”
Next up, Little says he would like to take visit to U-M’s campus sometime soon.
“I would like to make a normal unofficial visit, maybe this summer sometime or earlier in the season before I make an (official visit),” Little said. “But if not, yeah, I might take an official there.”
Adding: “Just trying to see the campus, meet all the players, meet the coaches, really just kind of see the scheme of things” Little said. “Hang around some people and get a feel for the school, see if it is a place I can feel comfortable at and be happy with.”
Other than Michigan, Little says Texas, Ole Miss, Alabama, Stanford and Florida State are some of his other notable schools in his recruitment. He plans on visiting Texas and Ole Miss coming up, and also noted he would like to visit – a already mentioned – Michigan and Florida State for the first time.
Little plans to announce his decision sometime during or right after his senior season.
