The Wolverines hosted several top targets at their recent summer recruiting event, “The BBQ at the Big House," but also had some upcoming talented underclassmen on campus like East Kentwood (Mich.) 2019 offensive tackle Logan Brown.
The 6-foot-6, 280-pounder is a rising prospect, who already holds offers from Wisconsin, Akron, Illinois and Central Michigan. On Saturday, the talented youngster got to chat with U-M headman Jim Harbaugh and left with an offer.
“My experience at the BBQ was great,” Brown told The Michigan Insider. “I got to meet many great recruits and got to see many great coaches. We also broke up into 6 teams and did a trivia scavenger hunt and had to take funny pictures at every location. We had amazing food, I met with Coach Harbaugh and hung out with Coach Netter and Coach Mattison.
It wasn’t the first time I met Coach (Harbaugh), but it was fun. I love talking to coach and we talked about his NFL experience, last season and his vision and goals past winning. We also talked about the offer too. He talked to me personally and I was happy that I got an offer from a program I grew up watching. It’s one of my top schools. Yeah, (I’m) big time interested.”
While Brown was kept quite busy during his time in Ann Arbor, the highlight of his trip came when he got to connect with Wolverine freshman kicker, Quinn Nordin.
“Hanging out with Quinn was my favorite part because he’s a really good friend of mine and is super supportive,” said Brown. “He went to Rockford, which is my school’s rival. I’ve worked out with him a few times in my schools weight room and strength and conditioning coach Marty Marens trained Quinn over the summer and the last semester of the school year, so we built a great relationship over the last few months.”
Moving forward, Brown hopes to visit Michigan State next Sunday
