Kalon Gervin earned his offer from Michigan in January, and since then he has continued to build his relationship with U-M’s players and coaches a like.
On Saturday it was no different, as he made his way back to Ann Arbor for U-M’s annual recruiting event; “Barbecue at the Big House,” held for Wolverine commits and top prospects.
“It was a more family environment type event,” Gervin said of his visit. “The coaches really take you in.”
And where does the Detroit Cass Tech 2018 cornerback stand with Michigan after his latest visit? Well, he didn’t name them a favorite or anything, but he did admit the Wolverines are in good standing in his recruitment.
“I feel really good about Michigan,” Gervin said. “They are definitely going to be there till the end.”
Currently, Gervin holds notable offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Tennessee, Pittsburgh, Oklahoma and Syracuse among others. He has also been on campus visits to Ohio State, West Virginia, Pittsburgh and Michigan State. But no matter what, Gervin says he’s looking for a school that meets his criteria, specifically his desired major in communications -- focusing in sports reporting.
“I’m looking at education first,” Gervin said. “What I want to major in, coach-ability, like how a coach can develop me for the next level.”
