Taylor, who committed to Michigan on April 1, announced on his Twitter account on Monday that he is departing form U-M’s 2018 class, as the Springfield (Ohio) High standout thanked Michigan coaches and fans alike throughout his recruiting process, but ultimately decided he needed to reopen his recruitment.
“I would like to thank the whole UM family of fans and coaches for the wonderful opportunity in this recruiting process,” Taylor said in his Twitter statement. “After much discussion with my family, I have decided I will back off my commitment to the University of Michigan. I truly feel this is the best course of action in order to make the right decision for me. #NoQuestions #Comments”
Taylor hasn’t confirmed if he still considering the Wolverines in his recruitment. At the time of his commitment, he chose Michigan over the likes of Ohio State, Notre Dame and Penn State among others.
